It is really annoying when that happens - The handset literally become useless once the trackball starts playing up.

Interestingly, I now find the current trackball rather odd and out of place on the BB Bold.

With the BB Bold’s distinct big buttons, the optical pad would fit in quite nicely.

Sounds like you been through a few models J

I’m pretty much happy with my 8900, but I definitely believe my next BB will have optical trackball… I see the benefits.

When you have a rollerball BB…they’re lush to use when new, but then I find with a couple months of normal usage, the ball starts to collect dust and grease then the dreaded sticking begins, as with my one now

The black trackball in my 8900 seems a little bit better than my previous 8310, but the issues still relatively the same.
