Do You Still Get Duplicate Google Emails On Your BlackBerry?

Author: admin | Filed under: BlackBerry

Here’s the Scenario…

“I sent an email to my wife from my BlackBerry…”goog mail bb Do You Still Get Duplicate Google Emails On Your BlackBerry?

“Seconds later, I receive a copy of the same email I sent ….Arggghhh”

Honestly, this has been on-going for the past two years - It’s something that I have always brushed aside to do - but never really got round to fixing.

I must emphasise, it is NOT a setting I have put in place - this happens by default on Google email accounts accessed via BlackBerry.

This problem appears to be related to the configuration of the Google mailbox.

In fact, a few mates have experienced the same issue - and have inadvertently accepted it as the norm.

Game over Buster

Until now, this issue has forever been on my to-do-list.

I spend more time deleting those damn emails than anything else… well not Anymore.

I’ve found the following step-by-step guide from BlackBerry very useful indeed.

To fix it, a filter needs to be created  on your BlackBerry Instant Email service

To create a filter, perform the following steps:

(1) Log in to the BlackBerry Internet Service account.
For instructions on how to log in to the BlackBerry Internet Service account.

(2) Click the Filters icon next to the integrated Gmail webmail account.

(3) Click Add a Filter to create a new filter.

(4) Configure the filter so that email messages are not sent to the BlackBerry smartphone if the email message originates from the Gmail webmail account integration. To configure this filter, complete the following steps:

  • Type a name for the filter in the Filter Name field. For example, My sent Gmail email messages.
  • Set the Apply filter when field to “FROM” field.
  • Type the Gmail webmail address in the Contains field. For example, <user name>@gmail.com.
  • Select the Do not forward messages to device option.
  • Click Add Filter.

And that’s IT

    Good News!!!
The (BlackBerry Internet Service) BIS 2.5 upgrade has made this process alot easier.
Simply deleting and re-applying your Google mail account should fix this…NICE :)

This upgrade also addressed related email issues.

Meanwhile, BlackBerry Internet Service 2.7 is now available with new improved features.

it’s so annoying receiving duplicate emails and even more so because it’s not straight forward to stop.
What irritates me the most is the fact that i’ve got one aol.com account, but i seem to get emails sent to aol.co.uk!!! so it means getting the same email twice. When you’re part of a chain mail it’s the most annoying thing ever! Luffa how can i sort this out?
